  • 1/2 cup + 2 Tbsp strawberry puree
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (nearly at room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup salted butter (nearly at room temperature)
  • 2 1/22 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 drops red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sift together cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In an electric mixer, cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in the wet ingredients: buttermilk and strawberry puree.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed.
