Ingredients
- 2 lbs (900 grams) sweet apples (Gala, Fuji, or similar)
- 10 cups water
- 2 Tbsp (25 grams) brown sugar
- 4 inches (55 grams) ginger
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 tsp black peppercorns
Instructions
- Wash and quarter the apples without peeling.
- For Instant Pot: Combine all ingredients in the pot; cook on high pressure for 18 minutes and release steam.
- For Stove Top: Simmer ingredients in a stock pot for about 30 minutes until apples are soft.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher or jars, pressing down on the apples to extract juices.
- Allow to cool before serving hot or chilled.
