  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • Oil (for cooking)
  • Pita bread
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Red onions
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Optional: Feta cheese and French fries

Instructions

  1. Puree onion and garlic in a food processor until smooth.
  2. In a stand mixer or large bowl, combine ground meats with pureed onion, garlic, spices, salt, and pepper. Mix until it reaches a paste-like consistency.
  3. Optionally refrigerate the mixture for 2 hours to enhance flavor.
  4. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking tray with foil.
  5. Shape the meat mixture into a log; wrap it around a skewer and cover tightly with foil.
  6. Bake for approximately 1.5 hours, flipping halfway through until cooked through (internal temp of 160°F).
