Description

Indulge in the delightful fusion of flavors with these Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls. Combining the classic taste of apple pie with the soft, gooey texture of cinnamon rolls, these treats are perfect for any occasion—whether it’s breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 2¼ tsp instant dry yeast
  • 120 g sugar
  • 240 ml lukewarm milk
  • 60 g unsalted melted butter cooled to room temperature
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract or essence
  • 900 g apples (I like to use Pink Lady, Fuji or Royal Gala)
  • 60 g unsalted butter
  • 170 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together lukewarm milk, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix wet ingredients into dry until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a greased bowl covered with a cloth for about 1 hour.
  4. For the filling, cook diced apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water until tender.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the apple filling evenly over it, then roll tightly and slice into pieces.
  6. Allow rolls to rise in a greased baking dish for another 30 minutes before baking at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes until golden brown.
